The second generation of the Lancia Flavia arrived in 2012 as a badge-engineered and subtly adapted European version of the facelifted Chrysler 200 Convertible. Underpinned by the front-wheel-drive Chrysler JS platform originally co-developed with Mitsubishi Motors, the Flavia was sold exclusively as a two-door, four-seater open-top convertible equipped with an electrically folding fabric soft top. Unlike the technologically pioneering original boxer-engined Flavia of the 1960s, this modern iteration was conceived as a comfortable, American-style boulevard cruiser offering generous standard luxury equipment and distinctive Lancia design touches such as redesigned alloy wheels and chrome badging. The sole powerplant offered was a naturally aspirated 2.4-litre four-cylinder World Gas Engine petrol unit generating 170 hp, paired exclusively with a six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Produced alongside the Chrysler 200 in Sterling Heights, Michigan, the car targeted continental European markets seeking an affordable open-top tourer before being phased out in 2014 due to limited commercial demand.
