The Kia Stonic subcompact crossover (YB) launched in June 2017 in Frankfurt. Developed on Hyundai-Kia's GB platform shared with the fourth-generation Rio, it was targeted at European urban drivers seeking a crossover with a raised ride height (183 mm) and protective body cladding. Measuring 4,140 mm long, it offered extensive personalization with up to 20 two-tone roof color combinations. This generation of the Stonic (YB) was in production since 2017 and offered in внедорожник body styles. Built on an engineered platform, it features strong structural rigidity, refined aerodynamics, and advanced occupant safety engineering.
Engine options featured 1.2L (84 hp) and 1.4L (100 hp) MPI petrol engines, a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder T-GDI turbo (100-120 hp), and a 1.6L CRDi diesel (110-115 hp). A 2020 update brought full-LED headlights, an 8-inch infotainment display, and an EcoDynamics+ 48V mild-hybrid powertrain mated to an intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). The powertrain lineup features modern engines optimized for thermal efficiency, balancing responsive acceleration with economical fuel consumption. Power is delivered through reliable manual or automatic transmissions. Mid-cycle updates introduced modernized LED lighting graphics, premium cabin materials, and enhanced active driver assistance suites.
