Jaguar E-Type Lightweight Continuation gallery / page 8
In 2014 Jaguar completed six Lightweight E-Types, finishing a run of eighteen planned in 1963 of which only twelve were originally built. The remaining chassis numbers from that series were used, and the all-aluminium bodies were made to the original drawings, digitised by laser-scanning surviving cars. Power came from a 3.8-litre straight-six with an aluminium block and dry sump producing around 340 hp. Each car was homologated for historic racing and sold for over a million pounds.
