Holden Viva I (JF) photos

The Holden Viva (JF series) was marketed across Australia and New Zealand between 2005 and 2009 as an affordable compact vehicle positioned beneath the European-sourced Holden Astra. Built upon General Motors' J200 global architecture, the Viva was a rebadged and localized version of the GM Daewoo Lacetti / Nubira design. The line-up encompassed three distinct body styles: a five-door hatchback, a four-door sedan, and a spacious five-door station wagon. Propulsion was provided exclusively by a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated inline-four Holden Family II gasoline engine (F18D3), which produced 89 kW (121 hp) and 169 Nm of torque. Transmission options comprised a standard five-speed manual gearbox or an optional four-speed torque-converter automatic. Local Holden engineers calibrated the MacPherson strut front and dual-link rear suspension specifically to handle Australasian road conditions, optimizing ride comfort and durability. Standard equipment included four airbags, anti-lock braking (ABS), air conditioning, and power accessories. The model line was phased out in 2009 when the all-new delta-platform Holden Cruze arrived on the market.
