About this generation

The second-generation Ford GT featured a carbon-fiber tub, active aerodynamics, and won Le Mans in 2016.

Unveiled in 2015 and produced from 2016 through 2022, the second-generation Ford GT was engineered to secure victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It featured a carbon-fiber monocoque tub, integrated roll cage, and flying buttress aerodynamic tunnels with an active rear wing.

Propulsion was provided by a mid-mounted 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine outputting up to 660 horsepower through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Featuring pushrod suspension, the road car celebrated the 50th anniversary of GT40's 1966 Le Mans victory with a class win.
