The 1934 Airflow was the first volume car whose body was dictated by aerodynamics: a streamlined nose, faired-in headlights, semi-unitary construction and an engine moved forward for better weight distribution. Buyers rejected it and it failed commercially, yet its ideas defined the look of cars a decade later. Imperial-badged versions were also sold.
