Unveiled in late 2013 and entering showrooms for the 2015 model year, the fourth generation Escalade was developed on GM's K2XL architecture. The vehicle introduced crisp, tailored sheet metal highlighted by a massive front grille and tall vertical full-LED lighting units at both ends. Inside, the hand-cut and sewn interior featured premium Mulan leather, authentic real wood finishes, a 12.3-inch reconfigurable instrument display, and the CUE capacitive touchscreen infotainment platform. As with prior generations, customers could choose between standard and extended ESV wheelbases.

Motivation came from a direct-injected 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 gasoline engine with Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation, generating 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Power transfer began with a six-speed automatic, progressing to an eight-speed unit for 2015, and culminating in a co-developed ten-speed automatic transmission from 2018 onward. Mid-cycle upgrades added a Rear Camera Mirror system, refined center console storage, and an ultra-luxurious Platinum trim featuring semi-aniline leather seating and massaging front seats. Standard and optional equipment included advanced active and passive safety systems, multi-zone climate control, and upgraded interior electronics.
