The single generation of the full-size Cadillac DTS (DeVille Touring Sedan) was manufactured from 2005 through 2011 on GM's front-wheel-drive G-body architecture. Replacing the De Ville nameplate, it updated exterior styling with Cadillac's 'Art and Science' cues, featuring a prominent chrome grille, vertical xenon headlights, and full-LED taillamps. Offered in five-passenger or six-passenger seating configurations with a front bench seat, the DTS also served as the official platform for the Presidential State Car.

Propulsion was supplied by the 4.6-liter 32-valve DOHC Northstar V8 engine in two tunes: the standard 275-horsepower LD8 variant and the performance 291-horsepower L37 trim. Power passed through a heavy-duty 4T80-E four-speed automatic transaxle. Advanced features included Magnetic Ride Control suspension, heated/cooled/massaging seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, and a Bose audio system.
