Lexus Recalling 423K Vehicles Because of the Fuel Leaks

Toyota is recalling 423,000 Lexus cars in America because of the fuel leaks.

The issue is connected with the nickel phosphate plating which is protecting fuel lines from corrosion. At the assembly, parts in the fuel lines may contact with the vehicle’s filler rings. This causes the sealing property to outwear. All this leads to a leakage of the fuel where the fuel pressure sensor is joined to the pipe delivering fuel. The models of 2006-2011 GS, 2007-2010 LS and 2006-2011 IS are all under the issue.

The automaker has not fixed any fires or injuries affected by the problem. The Japanese company has been inquiring the problem since 2010. At that time the customers began statin that they are smelling gas in their vehicles. As the result, the company has got six reports from dealers along with 238 warranty pretensions connected with the problem.

The company’s dealers will fix the filler ring seating surface gratituously.
