Genesis G70 sedan will provide a new turbocharged engine

The compact Genesis G70 sedan will be provided with a new, more powerful 4-cylinder turbocharged engine.

Edition Car and Driver informs that the power unit will be taken from the Hyundai Sonata N-Line.

Such an engine will be a 2.5-liter supercharged “four,” which produces 294 horsepower and 420 Nm of peak torque. This engine will replace the current two-liter engine with 255 “horses” and 352 Nm. Most likely, the new product will appear in a sedan in a year or two years.

Perhaps, with the replacement of the engine, Genesis G70 will lose the six-speed “mechanics,” because the 2.5-liter unit today operates only with an 8-band “robot” with two clutches.
