New BMW 5-Series and X1 are preparing an electric future

The new generation BMW 5-Series family will expand with an electric performance. Likewise, the green version will go to the new X1.

Carscoops writes that in addition to the latest electric versions, the cars will have traditional versions with internal combustion engines and hybrid versions. The technical part of the new power plant is unknown. Perhaps the 5-Series and X1 will take the electric motor from the iX3 crossover.

Recall that the BMW iX3 has an electric unit mounted on the rear axle. The engine produces 286 hp and 400 Nm. Acceleration to "hundred" takes 6.8 seconds at the cross at a maximum of 180 km/h. In iX3, the motors interact with an 80-kilowatt-hour battery for a maximum of 460 km of travel in the WLTP cycle.
