Maserati Planning its Own Alfa Romeo 4C Sports Model

Maserati Head Harald Wester has announced that the Italian brand is planning to construct its own variant of the Alfa Romeo 4C sports model.

At the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, where Maserati showed its brand-new Ghibli model, Mr. Wester informed that a Maserati 4C version is “a good deal.” Alfa Romeo is a sister brand to Maserati, so sharing technologies isn’t a problem.

It remains to be seen how popular the Alfa Romeo 4C will be in US. But it’s a promising sports model with a 1,750-cc turbocharged, 4-cylinder motor with 240 hp. The 4C is estimated to accelerate to 62 mph from a standstill in 4.5 sec and will have a top speed of 155 mph.

If Maserati was to make its own variant of the sports vehicle, expect it to be more upscale and costly. But one thing is known for sure, we will see more elegant headlights on the Maserati model.
