Expect A Completely Electric Hypercar From McLaren

McLaren wants to present a completely electric hypercar on par with the 675LT as to performance characteristics.

It was reported that the automaker EV will be a part of the producer’s high-end Ultimate Series range. It should come out after the high-performance P15 and the 3-seat BP23. The P15 should arrive in 2017 and the BP23 is due 2018.

The British company wants to manufacture a run of 5 vehicles first. They will be handed out to best clients of the company. After that it will be produced more widely.

The benchmark of the electric car’s performance if manufacturer’s own 675LT. It receives power from the 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder. The car is able to produce hellish 666 hp. It sprints from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and reaches top speed of 205 mph.

The unit should come out sometime in 2019 or 2020.
