MINI Cooper Countryman, Paceman Receive ALL4 All-Wheel Drive

By equipping the Cooper Countryman and Cooper Paceman vehicles with its ALL4 all-wheel drive, MINI has broaden its lineup of ALL4-powered cars to 10.

Beginning from July 2013, the MINI Cooper Countryman and the MINI Cooper Paceman now can get advantages from the spontaneous power delivery and top handling that the British brand’s ALL4 system provides. The fresh vehciles powered by all-wheel drive will come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and with a 6-speed automatic available optional. Constructed on the base of electromagnetic center differential that provides drive force on twisty roads, the ALL4 is placed directly in the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system, forcing it to drive torque faster and precisely to where it can be most effective.

Both the Countryman and Paceman ALL4 cars will be enhanced by brand’s 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder motor with 122 hp and 118 lb-ft of torque in the manual-customized models. The automatic-customized cars have 140 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to that, the Countryman ALL4 accelerates to 62 mph in 11.9 sec while the automatic does the same in 11.7. Talking about Paceman, it accelerates a little bit faster to 62 mph, in 11.8 sec and 11.6 in the automatic.
