Fisker Karma Lost Around $35,000 for Each Vehicle Delivered

Fisker’s fall from grace has been well veiled over the last few years, but now information has surfaced presenting just how much money the US electric brand lost.

Despite increasing $1.4 billion in private and public funds since it was established in 2007, Fisker Automotive is on its last breath. It hasn’t constructed a car in the last year, and the US auto-brand has never turned a profit. Over the span of 4 years from 2008-2012, Fisker lost $1 billion. Actually, Reuters is informing that Fisker lost about $35,000 per each Karma sold.

What’s being revealed now shows  how extraordinary Fisker’s spending strategy was. Despite laying off a lot of employees in late 2011 and early 2012, Henrik Fisker and co-founder Barny Koehler were still grabbing huge salaries of $600,000 to $700,000 a year.

Nowadays, things are looking bleak for Fisker to come back. The Karma’s resale value has already plummeted in the midst of all the unknown variables with the brand. At the same time, its arch enemy, Tesla, has enjoyed a profitable run at the EV market and carries on to grow every day. Fisker’s future is the biggest question these days for investors.
