Recall of 566K Pickup Trucks and SUVs by Chrysler

Two models of Chrysler will be recalled which is nearly 566,000 cars.

The bigger recall notification has touched 381,876 Ram pickup trucks which were equipped with 6.7-littre Cummins diesel powertrain. The company investigated the fuel heater housings of the trucks and the examination proved overheating. That is the reason of the recall. Engineers detected a terminal connector not far from the fuel deicing heater which can be corroded with time because of adhesion and all these causes a significant problem.

To be more exact, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs and from 2010 till 2014 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups are under the issue. Dealers will implement new terminals which were made of innovated material. They will also inspect the cover plate for leakages and change it if it is needed. All these measures will fix the problem.

The 2014 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee will be affected by the second recall. In some vehicles a circuit board might be connected with a debris cover plate. This can become a ground for incapacitation of the electronic stability control. Specialists will implement innovated software which was created to keep the ESC always active.
